Librela Class Action FAQs
Answer: We are unable to offer any advice as to whether cashing the check will impact your rights to participate in a potential settlement, but please keep us informed if/when you receive compensation. In addition, if you have received a release or any other documentation from Zoetis, please let us know by emailing librela@parawolf.com.
Answer: While our attorneys are working on this lawsuit, we need you to keep track of your damages/expenses, etc. Please keep copies of your vet records, bills, and any expenses associated with your pet's injuries and treatment. You may share those with our firm or keep copies on file until requested.
Answer: Please save any receipts or documentation of treatment and costs (e.g. amount paid for Librela; cost of medical treatment for side effects from Librela; amount paid for pet and end of life costs if deceased). If you do not have this documentation, start to gather it now and scan or take photos and save on your phone or computer. You do not need to submit this documentation to us until asked to do so.
Answer: A lawsuit can take several years from filing to conclusion. This lawsuit was filed on October 9, 2024.
I live outside of the United States. Can I participate, or be compensated for what Librela did to my dog?
Answer: At this time we are investigating bringing similar actions outside of the United States. However, for now, there are no active lawsuits that we know of outside of the United States. However, this could change.
Answer: We are lawyers, not veterinarians, so we cannot give medical advice.
Answer: The lawsuit is predicated upon undisclosed adverse side effects from Librela. There's no specific list of injuries. We therefore ask you to maintain all records and document anything that happens/happened to your dog after the injections.
Answer: No. The people who have signed retainers are putative class representatives. If the court certifies a class, they will represent the interest of similarly situated individuals (class members), and those class members do not need to have a signed retainer to benefit from a successful outcome (settlement or trial).
Answer: No one is being asked to pay anything out of pocket.
Answer: This lawsuit is only against Zoetis.
Answer: You should procure all veterinary records and bills and either send them to us when we request them, or keep them yourself so we can request them when the time is right. If you have sent them in and we haven't responded, rest assured that we have stored the records in our system.
